Istanbul 2004: State of Art Telecommunications Infrastructure Makes Life Easy

Well in advance of the requirement of the Olympic Games. Istanbul already enjoys the state of art telecommunication systems and broadcasting infrastructure. Two commercial satellites -and the third one scheduled for September 1999- in geosynchronous orbit keep the city in constant touch with the rest of the world. A key feature of the Istanbul bid are the media facilities located minutes away from both the airport and the Games themselves, in close proximity to the heart of Istanbul's own broadcasting sector.
